St Giles House hotel is situated in the heart of Norwich set in a stunningly restored baroque-style grade II listed building. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond the needs of our guests, and whilst due to the nature of the building there are certain features making it difficult for people with limited mobility to get to all bedrooms within the hotel, we are pleased to say the vast majority of bedrooms and all communal areas are all accessible by wheelchair. Our intention is to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible and we will go out of our way to cater for any special requirements.

Arrival and Car Parking.

Check in is after 2pm on the day of arrival and check out is 11am. Should you arrive earlier than 2pm we will happily look after your luggage whilst you take time enjoying the fine city of Norwich.
Should you be arriving by car we have a secure private car park to the rear of the hotel. From here there is a minutes’ walk to the entrance of the hotel where a lift or stairs are available to reception. For wheelchair users or those with limited mobility, we will happily arrange for you to park the car directly outside the door of the hotel where once again, a lift is available to reception. If you are arriving at street level through the main reception of the hotel there are 2 small steps at the entrance but should you require assistance our reception team will happily help you.

Lounge.

Our lounge is the perfect place to sit and relax with coffee or a pre dinner aperitif. Newspapers and magazines are always available and you are perfectly welcome to enjoy a meal from our many menu options here as well. The lounge is located off the main entrance lobby and can therefore be accessed via the car park and lift or our main front entrance.

Restaurant and bar.

From street level, once inside the hotel the restaurant and bar can be accessed by either a sloped walkway or 8 small steps. Once again, from the rear of the hotel the restaurant can be accessed via our lift. Our friendly and helpful staff can guide you through our menus, which can be made available in large bold print with prior arrangement. Any dietary requirements will always be catered for.

Terrace.

A hidden gem in the centre of the city of Norwich is our fantastic Parisian style terrace. Here you can unwind with a drink in hand or dine al fresco from our fantastic lunch or dinner menus. The terrace can be accessed via stairs from the restaurant or a sloped walkway from reception.

Conference and Function Rooms.

We have three function rooms available for hire, each with their own unique style and each accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. The two smaller conference rooms, Maddermarket one and two, with stunning ornate fireplaces and wood panelling are each located off the main entrance lobby and are therefore accessible via either hotel entrance. Public and disabled toilets are located just a short walk away via a sloped walkway. Our Walnut suite with its breathtaking crystal chandelier can seat up to 50 people and has both lift and stair access. Once again, public toilets are available on this floor of the hotel.

Bedrooms.

Here at St Giles House we offer four differing grades of room, each individually designed and inclusive of a cooked breakfast the following morning. We have two accessible rooms available via our lift and luggage can be taken to your room by our reception team. One accessible room can be made as either a twin or double and has a wet room with support rails and an alarm system. The other is a double room and has a walk in shower cubicle, raised toilet and support rails; once again an alarm is in place within the bathroom. A further twelve rooms are accessible via our lift and a further three can be found on the ground floor of the hotel. Our reception team will happily offer the best solution to any special requirements you may have so please feel free to ask upon booking. Due to the period nature of our adjacent Georgian building, five of our beautifully refurbished bedrooms are unfortunately only accessible via a staircase.

Additional Information.

In the case of a fire, an alarm sounds continuously. A member of the team will come to your room and assist with evacuation. Please advise if you have a hearing impediment at the time of booking or check in. There are fire extinguishers throughout the hotel and fire exits are well signed and lit. Your nearest fire exit will be highlighted on the door of your room.
Smoking is only permitted outside but this area can be easily accessed by wheelchair users.
